NHL 2K8

This information was released about a month ago, but the sports section of the Ottawa Sun just reported today that the Senators own Jason Spezza will grace the cover of NHL 2K8 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 2 and Playstation 3.

This is a pretty big deal. There are over 600 players in the NHL and they decided to go with a player from Ottawa. A lot of Sens fans wanted Spezza traded all year long; I recall even Lowell Green having his talk show after the Cup final declaring Ray Emery and Spezza needed to pack their bags. But this demonstrates how much the hockey world covets a player like Jason Spezza and how Ottawa fans shouldn't take him for granted.

The game will be released next month, and even though I don't own a 360 or Playstation 3, I just might rent one just to give it a try. The graphics are truly jaw dropping. Check out this shot of Joe Thornton, the detail is phenomenal:

Definitely wait until they figure out the processor heat problems and include the HDMI port as standard on the 360 before you buy it to go with the HDTV, buddy.
