Junk

I'm done with these energy drinks. I'm not sure what my expectations are with these beverages, but for $4.25 a can (at least that's what the little convenience store in my work building is charging) you'd think you can notice some difference in your alertness or whatever they claim.

Red Bull tastes a lot like Rock Star and that's not a complaint, they're both pretty tasty and sweet and go down easy. But the effects are about the equivalent of a can of Coke.

I'd probably buy a few cans and test the effects over a longer time span, or maybe try two cans a day (they say they don't recommend a dose more than two a day!) but for $4.25 forget it.

Coke is it.

Comments:
These drinks are a mind altering chemical, like beer. A beer would also cost about the same. Let's say you'd never tried beer before, would one beer do anything for you? Probably not. I recommend you try four or five in a three hour period before judging these drinks. And don't for a second mind the recommendation of limiting your ingestion of this product to two per day as is written on some cans, I'm sure that beer had that warning in it's early days too.

I have had many in the past and they always seem to get me going and keep me alert. What were you doing when you had it BP? I am sure if you were not doing much or around many people there would be little or any effect.

I have used them to give me a boost when I needed to be social around many people and was beat and it worked, and needing to concentrate on biking or climbing and that worked as well.

You may want to consider using something that will give you long lasting energy as red bull is good for short bursts maybe a couple hours and then nothing. Eat healthy during your games and have a good balance of protein and carbs. And have a Gatorade around at all times but dilute it with water as the sugar in it will make you spike and crash. Then you can use an energy drink when you are really starting to lose concentration. Believe from my races and sports this is the best combination.

Although I have had and would have more then one red bull a day, I wouldn’t recommend drinking a few of them in a couple hours as it is not good for the heart or the blood pressure…

I was just at work, pressing buttons in front of my monitor. Maybe if I'm doing something a little more stimulating, it will be better.

But diluted Gatorade is a new one. I will have to keep that in mind.

Yes, coke is far more effective at keeping you awake. But it also gets your heart racing. And for an anti-drug guy such as yourself, I'm stunned you're even consideri...Oh...the drink.....
