Sometimes, I like being wrong
I don't know how Edmonton is doing it. Let's get real here...the stars are aligning so that CAROLINA wins the cup. What else do they need? The Oil lost their #1 goalie, they have been brutal on the power play and were down three games to one. Then, like some form of divine intervention, Erik Cole comes back from a season ending injury. Surely that would give the mental boost the 'Canes need to go over the top?
No way. It just seems that Edmonton wants it more. Not to mention Markannen's great goaltending. I can't believe I used the words "great" and "Markannen" in the same sentence. Their 5-0 blowout loss when he first went between the pipes was the goalie I thought I was going to see for the rest of the final. But he's finding a way, and giving Edmonton a chance. And that's all they've asked for since Roloson went down.
Not too many people are going to miss watching game 7. Edmonton has a chance to pull off one of the most memorable comebacks in NHL history. One game. That's it. 100+ games laster and it all comes down to just one last contest. No matter what happens, Edmonton has nothing to be ashamed about and can hold their heads high. But now, well, we're all greedy. The Cup back in Canada would sure be sweet, and it would be extremely disappointing if it doesn't happen now.
I'm glad my "Canes in four" post gave them the motivation to force a game 7!
